About the event
Mid-August in the dye garden is the time for all the colors of the rainbow. In this workshop, we’ll harvest and process at least 5 natural dye powerhouses to see how many different shades we can produce. Participants will get to explore dip dyeing, solar dyeing, and shifting color with mordants and modifiers. Everyone will leave with swatches, dyed cotton and silk handkerchiefs, and a freshly dyed item of their own.
Following the class, participants are invited to picnic at the farm. Light refreshments provided, but please bring your own sack lunch. Refrigeration will be available.
