About the event
Did you know the Willamette valley was at one time a major producer of US grown linen? This beautiful bast fiber plant grows happily in our climate - and turning it from plant to wearable cloth is a unique process! Participants will get a chance to tour through each of the steps of flax processing - from harvest through to hand spinning. Everyone will leave with a packet of flax seed to start their own future flax patch.
Following the class, participants are invited to picnic at the farm. Light refreshments provided, bring your own sack lunch. Refrigeration will be available.
