About the event
Take a tour of the steps involved in transforming a raw fleece into usable yarn. We’ll start by visiting Foglight’s Shetland sheep and discuss their daily care and annual shearing. Next, participants will get hands-on experience in each of the steps of small-scale fleece processing: skirting, washing, carding, and spinning! Leave with a deeper understanding of wool and fiber processing, and maybe a new hobby (or three).
Following the class, participants are invited to picnic at the farm. Light refreshments provided, but please bring your own sack lunch. Refrigeration available.
